RENO, Nev. (Feb. 27, 2026) – Two Cowboys ran finals qualifying times, including the new 400-meter school record, while the field events added team points on day two of the Mountain West Championships, Friday.
COWGIRLS
Senior
Kais Kimuli added two points for the Cowgirls' team score with her seventh-place finish in the weight throw. She threw to 17.65 meters on her sixth and final attempt. Freshman
Jade West would take 11th in the prelims with her top throw reaching 16.31 meters.
Muriel Jones ran a time of 4:55.89 in the mile for 13th overall. While she missed out on the finals, she did run 4:50.42 with altitude conversions for No. 7 all-time.
Sophomore
Carly Norman just missed out on a finals qualifying spot when she took ninth in the 60-meter hurdles. She would take third in heat one with a time of 8.81. Two other Cowgirls, junior
Ava Morgan and freshman
Desirae Iacovetto, finished back-to-back in the prelims. Morgan would run a time of 8.97 while Iacovetto crossed the line at 9.02.
In the 400 meters, sophomore
Eva Dellorco led Wyoming with an 11th-place finish of 54.92. This becomes the new No. 9 time as Dellorco ran a personal best. Sophomore
Megan Witkiewicz crossed the line 26th with a time of 56.54.
Senior
Libby Berryhill finished in 10th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:12.03. Sophomore
Hanan Aldelemy ran to 15th at 2:12.86 while sophomore
Julia Rudolph crossed the line at 2:13.02 for 17th overall.
In the high jump, sophomore
Koi Adderley cleared a height of 1.60 meters on her third and final attempt. She would place 11th.
Sophomore
Taliah Morris led Wyoming in the long jump with her best leap of 5.77 meters for 10th. Senior
Elayna Chafee followed in 16th with a jump of 5.55 meters while Adderley doubled in jumps today with a mark of 5.54 meters for 17th.
COWBOYS
The Cowboys added four team points when senior
Remar Pitter took fifth in the long jump. On his first jump of the final, he reached a distance of 7.32 meters. Junior
Christian Edwards also jumped and finished 10th with a leap of 7.04 meters on his second attempt.
Freshman
Jackson Aydelott improved on his school record time in the 400 meters to qualify for tomorrow's final. He ran to fifth with a time 47.18 to get into Saturday's final. Sophomore
Bradley Ekstrom took 13th, crossing the line at 48.91. Junior
Cody Hape and senior
Darius Wiggins would finish 17-18 with times of 49.38 and 49.59, respectively.
Senior
Mac Zastrow also made it to tomorrow's finals when he placed eighth in the mile run with a time of 4:08.18. Junior
Aidan Ramsey placed 18th overall with a time of 4:18.51 while senior
Dylan van der Hock ran to 21st at 4:37.38.
In the 60-meter prelims, junior
Gavin Cougle placed 11th with a time of 6.84 while freshman
Ryan Elsen took 13th at 6.89.
Junior
Sam Castle ran a time of 1:53.44 in the 800 meters for 11th overall. He was followed by senior
Tristan Knueppel in 15th, crossing the line at 1:55.04.
In the weight throw, freshman
Ayden Mills placed 11th with his first and best throw of 16.63 meters. Sophomore
Charles LaFore would not field a fair attempt.
