LARAMIE, Wyoming (2/21/26) – The University of Wyoming men's golf team is back in action this week. The Cowboys host the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate from Monday through Wednesday at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, California.

The tournament is a 54-hole competition with 18 holes being completed each day. The Classic Club is a par 72 layout that stretches 7,305 yards.

This represents the Pokes' second tournament of the spring season. They're fresh off a ninth-place finish at the Arizona N.I.T. last month.

Brody Knowlton paced Wyoming in Tucson. He tied for 18th at 211 (-5), which included a career-best 67 (-5) in his opening round. It marked Knowlton's first-career top 25 finish, as well.

The Cowboys took sixth at last year's Desert Intercollegiate at 9-under. They've finished inside the top six each of the last four years with the high-water mark being 2023 when they won the team title at 7-under.

This year's tournament features a large field comprised of 23 teams. In addition to Wyoming, Valparaiso, Oral Roberts, Northern Iowa, CSU Northridge, CSU Fullerton, Hawaii, Southern Utah, Utah Tech, Drake, UC Santa Barbara, Maryland, Seattle, UC Irvine, Cal Baptist, Cal Poly, UC Riverside, Colorado, East Texas A&M, Eastern Washington, Omaha, Sacramento State and College of the Desert are slated to tee it up.

Following the Desert Intercollegiate, Wyoming takes a week off before the Lamkin San Diego Classic. That tournament runs from March 9-10.
