Cowboy Football Announces Addition of Transfers

Laramie, Wyo. (January 24, 2025) --  The Wyoming Cowboy Football program announced 21 additions to the 2026 roster on Saturday. The group includes 20 transfer student-athletes from different levels of college football and the addition of one high school student-athlete.

2026 Wyoming Football Transfer Class Select Highlights

•The 20 signees come from different levels of college football with five coming from the Football Bowl Subdivision, 11  from the Football Championship Subdivision, three from NCAA Division II and one junior college transfer.

•The Cowboys added eight players on the offensive side of the football that include three offensive lineman, a quarterback, a wide receiver, a tight end and a  pair of running backs.

•The Pokes added 11 players on the defensive side of the ball with four defensive linemen, five defensive backs and two line backers. The Cowboys also added a long snapper.

•The offensive group includes a dual threat quarterback that became the first player in his previous school's history to pass for over 2,000 yards and rush for 600 yards. Also featured is a running back that led his former conference in rushing and one who led his team in rushing last season.

•The defensive group is highlighted by a pair of defensive ends that have combined for over 30 career sacks with all players earning all-conference honors. 

2026 Wyoming Football High School Signing Class Select Highlights

•19 three-star rated high school recruits by both 247Sports.com and Rivals.

•The Cowboys signed the top two recruits in the State of Wyoming, as the two ranked both as three-star recruits by 247Sports.com.

•The Cowboys added four players from the State of Missouri with three of them ranking in the top-30 in the Show Me State.

•The Cowboys signed the son of a former Cowboy in Dante Bruley, who's father John played for the Brown and Gold from 1990-1993. UW also signed a brother of a current player, as Beck Haswell from Sheridan will join his brother Alex in Laramie.

•The Pokes added a quarterback from the State of Tennessee in Taylor Hasselbeck. His father Tim played in the NFL and is currently an analyst for ESPN. 

 •Xix signees will enroll in January for the Brown and Gold.

Position Breakdown

•This year's position breakdown sees 21 recruits on defense and 19 on offense and one special teamer. The defensive recruiting group is made up of 8 defensive backs, 5 linebackers and 8 defensive linemen.  Offensively, UW has 7 offensive linemen, 4 wide receivers, 3 running backs, 3 tight ends, and 2 quarterbacks.

•Wyoming's 2026 class includes players from 20 different states.
