BOZEMAN, Mont. (Jan. 24, 2026) – Freshman sprinter
Jackson Aydelott broke the 400-meter Wyoming indoor record to highlight the final day of the Bobcat Challenge in Wyoming's last meet of the month, Saturday.
Aydelott, from Vernon, Texas, kept up with the Cowboy way of breaking school and facility records. In his first collegiate 400 meters, he ran to first, crossing the line at 47.31, a facility record and indoor school record. 47.31 is also the 22nd-best time in the nation this season.
This is the fourth Cowboy school record broken this season, and the second Aydelott has been a part of, following his anchor job in the 4x400-meter relay last week.
Also in the 400 meters, junior
Cody Hape took fifth with a time of 48.60, and senior
Darius Wiggins was seventh with a time of 48.85.
In the women's 400 meters, sophomore
Megan Witkiewicz ran a time of 56.39 for fourth to lead the Cowgirls. Junior
Gabbreiella Mendoza-Molina finished ninth with her time of 58.84.
All three Cowboys ran below the facility record in the 800 meters. Junior
Sam Castle finished in third with the No. 57 time in the nation this season at 1:51.84. Senior
Tristan Knueppel ran to fifth with a time of 1:53.43 while senior
Mac Zastrow finished seventh at 1:55.12.
Sophomore
Hanan Aldelemy crossed the line second with a time of 2:11.76, the No. 88 time in the nation this indoor season. She was followed by senior
Libby Berryhill in fourth at 2:13.18 and sophomore
Julia Rudolph, taking eighth with a time of 2:16.07.
Two Cowboys made the 60-meter final running in the prelims. Senior
Gavin Cougle qualified with a time of 6.88 before finishing fifth in the final at 6.86. Freshman
Ryan Elsen ran to sixth in the final with a time of 6.87, improving from his prelim time of 6.90.
In the women's 60 meters, only senior
Faith Jehu ran. She took 15th in the prelims, crossing the line at 8.02.
Sophomore
Carly Norman took ninth in the 60-meter hurdles prelims with her time of 9.02 while freshman
Payton Becker finished with a time of 9.36 for 12th. Neither qualified for the final.
The first field event on the day was the high jump ,with one Cowboy competing. In his first meet with Wyoming, junior
AJ McGloflin jumped to second with his clearance of 2 meters on his first attempt.
In the women's triple jump, senior
Elayna Chafee followed her long jump performance with a second-place finish of 11.61 meters. Sophomore
Koi Adderley finished her weekend in the jumps with a leap of 11.34 meters for fifth overall.
Junior
Christian Edwards was the lone Cowboy in the triple jump. He placed sixth with his best jump, reaching a distance of 12.94 meters.
Junior
Kais Kimuli was the only Wyoming thrower to set a mark in the weight throw. She finished in eighth after her best throw landed at 16.43 meters.
To close the meet, Wyoming ran in the men's and women's 4x400-meter relay. For the men, the team of freshman
Chance Morris, Aydelott, sophomore
Logan Brown and Wiggins took second with a time of 3:15.15. The Cowgirl squad of Mendoza-Molina, Becker, sophomore
Madeline Thorne and sophomore
Eva Dellorco ran to fourth at 3:49.72.
