BOZEMAN, Mont. (Jan. 23, 2026) – Senior thrower Cam Burkett threw well over another shot put facility record, and sophomore Muriel Jones won the 3,000-meter run on day one of the Bobcat Challenge, Friday.

Wyoming's day began with freshman Desirae Iacovetto competing in the pentathlon. She started with the 60-meter hurdles, where she ran a personal-best time of 9.10 for third. She would get the jumps out of the way next, finishing seventh in both the high jump (1.45 meters) and the long jump (4.60 meters). Iacovetto finished with the best shot put in the pentathlon with her personal best throw of 10.51 meters before closing the event with another personal best in the 800 meters at 2:47.81. Iacovetto would place seventh with 2,959 points.

The first track event of the day was the men's mile. Senior Mac Zastrow ran below the previous facility record with a time of 4:07.27 for fifth. With altitude adjustments, his time of 4:01.90 was a personal best and the new No. 4 time in indoor school history.

Senior Tristan Knueppel would finish 11th in the mile with a time of 4:17.91, after adjustments.

In the women's mile, senior Libby Berryhill would run a personal-best time of 4:57.08, after adjustments, for fourth. Sophomores Hanan Aldelemy and Julia Rudolph would follow her in sixth and seventh. Aldelemy ran a personal best of 4:57.60 while Rudolph crossed the line at 4:57.64, after adjustments.

Two Cowgirls competed in the long jump with Sophomore Taliah Morris taking second and senior Elayna Chafee finishing fourth. Morris jumped to 5.98 meters on her second attempt while Chafee had her best leap of 5.80 meters on her first try.

Senior Kais Kimuli had a personal best outing in the shot put. She threw 14.58 meters (47' 10") for fourth place, more than a foot farther than her previous best.

In the women's 200 meters, the Cowgirls were led by sophomore Madeline Thorne. She finished in 10th with a time of 25.53. Freshman Payton Becker crossed the line next in 22nd with a time of 25.76 in her first collegiate 200 meters. Sophomore Carly Norman rounded out the Cowgirls in 30th with a time of 26.76.

Three Cowboys were faster than the previous facility record in the 200-meter dash. Senior Gavin Cougle finished fourth with a time of 21.63, the No. 10 time in program history. In sixth came sophomore Logan Brown with a time of 21.76 while freshman Ryan Elsen placed ninth at 21.93, both below the facility record. Freshman Chance Morris crossed the line at 22.34 for 13^th overall.

In the women's high jump, sophomore Koi Adderley cleared a height of 1.65 meters for fourth overall.

Senior Remar Pitter Wyoming in the men's long jump with his second-place finish. He jumped 7.33 meters on his first attempt. Junior Christian Edwards finished in fifth with a best leap of 6.74 meters in his third and final fair jump.

Closing out the field events was the men's shot put. Senior Cam Burkett continued his winning ways with a first-place throw of 19.05 meters, a facility record. He tied his indoor personal best with his penultimate throw of the meet. Sophomore Charles LaFore came in third with a throw of 17.36 meters while sophomore Quinn Lindsay finished fifth with a top put reaching 16.74 meters.

Wyoming went 1-2 in the women's 3,000 meters with sophomore Muriel Jones taking first with a time of 10:18.72. Redshirt-freshman Claire Engelhardt was just behind Jones with her finish of 10:19.84.

Sophomore Austin Akers took fifth in the 3,000 meters to lead the Cowboys with a time of 8:53.61. Sophomore Nolan Hoffman wrapped the day with his time of 9:17.70 for seventh place.
