COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jan. 21, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowgirls have swept the weekly Mountain West Female Tennis Athletes of the Week, announced Wednesday by the league office. Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia was named the league's Player of the Week. Silver Bijlsma was named the Freshman of the Week.

Kochelaevskaia went 5-1 in singles play the opening week of 2026 in Oklahoma, playing at the No. 1 and 2 singles positions. Kochelaevskaia went 4-1 at the first spot and 1-0 at No. 2, including recording three straight-set wins. She also won three doubles matches during the week along with her partner, Serina Abriola.

Bijlsma, meanwhile, also went 5-1 in her first dual action as a Cowgirl and played at the second and third singles spots. Bijlsma went 2-0 at No. 2 and 3-1 at No. 3. Bijlsma also had a great first week playing at No. 1 doubles along with partner Violetta Borodina. The duo went 5-1 in doubles action.

The duo and the rest of the Cowgirls return to action February 7 at home against Minnesota.
