TULSA, Okla. (Jan. 17, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowgirls continued play in their week down in the state of Oklahoma Saturday with day one of the Tulsa Hurricane Invitational. The Cowgirls "split" on the day, opening with a tough 4-3 loss to Louisiana Tech before rallying to win 5-of-6 singles matches during the afternoon against Southeast Missouri. The full match with SEMO will be concluded Sunday with doubles play but Wyoming has already clinched the team win with its five singles points.

The Cowgirls won the doubles point against La Tech but stumbled when it came to singles action. Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia and Silver Bijlsma got the two singles wins to open the day. Both Bijlsma and Kochelaevskaia went 2-0 in singles matches on the day as they also won in straight sets against SEMO. The two were able to pull out three-set victories in the first match against Louisiana Tech.

In doubles, UW got wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Bijlsma and her partner, Violetta Borodina won 6-4. Eugenia Ceinos and Dilnaz Mashabayeva came out on top in their match at the second spot, 6-2. In addition to Bijlsma and Kochelaevskaia, Wyoming also tallied three more singles wins in the afternoon match.

Borodina won her match in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-3 to get her first dual victory of the season. At No. 4, Ceinos was impressive with a 6-3 and 6-2 win. At No. 5, Serina Abriola came away with a third set super set victory in her match. Abriola rallied to win 2-6, 6-1 and 10-3.
