BOULDER, Colo. (Jan. 16, 2026) – On the first day of action at the Potts Invitational, Wyoming track & field won three events and finished in the top 3 in six events with a new facility record, Friday, in Boulder, Colo.

Senior Cam Burkett surprised the field and upset the No. 3 shot putter this season when he won with a facility-record toss of 19.05 meters, an indoor personal best. This breaks the facility record set in 2024 by Air Force. Burkett now holds the No. 6 shot put in the nation this season and moves to T-No. 3 in the indoor school record book.

In the women's shot put, senior Kais Kimuli took third overall with a put of 14.09 meters. She was followed by freshman Jade West and her fourth-place finish of 13.86 meters. Sophomore Teagan Becker would take sixth with a throw of 13.49 meters.

The men's weight throw was won by former Cowboy Daniel Reynolds, breaking his previous facility record while sophomore Charles LaFore led Wyoming in fifth with his throw of 18.74 meters. Freshman Ayden Mill took 13th with a mark of 15.40 meters.
