LARAMIE, Wyo. (Jan. 13, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowgirls open their spring 2026 slate this week in the Sooner State. Wyoming will play six matches in the state of Oklahoma beginning Thursday.
The Cowgirls play Tarleton State and Oklahoma, January 15 in Norman. Following that, UW travels to Tulsa for its annual matches at the Tulsa Hurricane Invitational. At the invite, the Cowgirls will face host-Tulsa, Louisiana Tech and Missouri State Jan. 17-18. The week closes with a trip to Broken Arrow to face Northeastern State in a neutral-site match the 20th.
Wyoming returns a trio of All-Mountain West honorees from 2025 in Violetta Borodina (doubles and singles), Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia (singles) and Dilnaz Mashabayeva (doubles). It was the second time in her career that Borodina was named All-Mountain West Doubles. The Cowgirls also return letterwinners Serina Abriola, Eugenia Ceinos and Ruby Young to the 2026 squad. Newcomers Silver Bijlsma and Madlena Orlova round-out the roster.
Head Coach Dean Clower enters his 15th spring leading the Cowgirl Tennis program. Clower has 178 career dual victories at Wyoming and has 64 Mountain West wins while boasting a 68-percent winning percentage in league action and is 68-14 at home in his previous 14 seasons. Associate Head Coach Julie Gonzalez is in her seventh season with the program and third as the associate. New to this year's staff is assistant coach Philippe Zehender.
