LARAMIE, Wyoming (9/8/25) – The University of Wyoming soccer team is fresh off one of its biggest wins in program history, blanking No. 15 Georgia, 1-0, in Athens last week. Two of the most impactful players in that victory earned Mountain West Conference Player of the Week honors.
Haley Bartel earned Defensive Player of the Week, while
Alyssa Glover took home Offensive Player of the Week. It marks Glover's fourth Offensive Player of the Week honor, and it represents Bartel's first-career weekly award.
Bartel turned away a season-high six shots against a Bulldogs squad that was averaging three goals per game. On the season, Bartel has made 16 saves and only surrendered three goals for a GAA of 0.60.
Glover represented the lone goal scored in the Georgia match. It was her fourth straight match with a score. Glover currently possesses four goals and an assist for nine points on the season.
Wyoming is on the road again this week. The Pokes travel to Idaho State on Thursday for a 7 p.m. match at Davis Field before coming home Sunday versus Colorado Mesa in a 1 p.m. match at the Madrid Sports Complex.
