LARAMIE, Wyoming (9/30/25) – The University of Wyoming soccer team begins its longest homestand of the season Thursday. The Cowgirls are set for four straight at the Madrid Sports Complex, beginning with UNLV on Thursday at 4 p.m. and Nevada on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on the Mountain West Conference Sports Network.

The Pokes own a 5-3-3 overall record and a 0-1-1 (1 point) league mark. UNLV is 3-6-2 overall and 1-0-1 (4 points) in conference action, while Nevada – which hosts Grand Canyon on Thursday – is 1-7-2 overall and 0-1-1 (1 point).

Wyoming is in a little bit of a scoring lull of late. The Cowgirls have only managed one goal in their last four matches, however, their defense has stood tall to earn them a couple of points during that stretch.

"We've done a nice job creating chances, we've just flattened out in some ways the last couple of weeks," head coach Josh Purdum said. "The urgency to score is still there. The tempo in our attack and our transition intentionality and pace is still there. We just need to find the back of the net once and hopefully the flood gates open as new ideas come across."

Alyssa Glover still leads the team and conference in goals with six and points with 14, as she's added a pair of assists to her scoring total. Kiley Ballek has also found the back of the net multiple times this season with three goals and one assist for seven points.

Haley Bartel is also near the top of the league in goalkeeping. She's made 37 saves with nine goals allowed for a GAA of 0.82. Bartel's GAA ranks second-best in the conference and her number of saves is also top five.

Michelle Madrid paces the Rebels with three goals and an assist for seven points. UNLV has utilized two goalkeepers – Hanne Breur and Elesha Magley – this season. Breur, who has played four games, leads in saves with 20 and Magley, who has played in six matches, boasts the better GAA of 1.62.

The Rebels lead the all-time series with the Cowgirls, 17-7-4. UNLV has claimed the last two meetings, including the last in Laramie, 2-1, during the 2023 season.

Naimi Castro paces the Wolf Pack with three goals and six points. Mia Collins patrols the net, making 52 saves with 21 goals allowed for a GAA of 2.33.

The Pokes hold a 7-4-2 all-time record against Nevada. The two squads tied, 0-0, last year in Reno, and the Wolf Pack won the last matchup in Laramie, 1-0, in 2023.

Following the matches against the Silver State schools, Wyoming remains home for another pair of contests against Air Force (Oct. 9) and Colorado College (Oct. 12).
