Wyoming Returns to Minnesota for Roy Griak Invitational

ST. PAUL, Minn. (Sept. 18, 2025) – The University of Wyoming cross country program travels to the Land of 10,000 Lakes to run at the 39th Roy Griak Invitational hosted by Minnesota, Friday, at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in St. Paul, Minn.

The defending champion Cowboys will run in the Merrill Fischbein Gold 8k at 9 a.m. MT while the Cowgirls take on the Jack Johnson Gold 6k at 9:45 a.m. MT.

The field for the 39th Roy Griak Invitational will host five nationally ranked men's and women's teams. On the men's side, No. 8 Notre Dame and No. 16 Cal Baptist will run the course, and on the women's side, No. 11 Notre Dame, No. 20 Minnesota and No. 25 Northwestern will compete. The full gold Division I field is as follows: Cal Baptist, Iowa, Marshall, Minnesota, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Northwestern, Notre Dame, South Dakota, South Dakota State, St. Thomas and Wyoming.

Last year at the Roy Griak Invitational, the Cowboys won the gold division for the first time and were paced by three individuals in the top 10. The Cowgirls also had their best team finish when they took third, led by two runners in the top 10.

LAST TIME OUT
Wyoming opened the 2025 cross country season hosting the Wyoming Invite on Aug. 30, in Cheyenne, Wyo. The Cowboys finished second as a team while the Cowgirls took third. On the men's side, senior Jacob White nearly finished first after leading the whole course before being squeaked out by a Colorado runner. For the women, freshman Claire Engelhardt finished as the top Cowgirl in her first race in the Brown and Gold.
