LARAMIE, Wyoming (8/29/25) – The University of Wyoming soccer team takes to the road this weekend. The Cowgirls travel to Colorado on Sunday for a 1 p.m. match at Prentup Field. The contest will be streamed on ESPN-Plus.
The Pokes possess a 2-0-1 record with home victories over Northern Colorado and Regis and a draw at Drake. The Buffaloes – who are receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches' Poll – are unbeaten, as well, at 4-0-1 with nearly all their victories being lopsided.
Colorado has defeated Air Force, Fordham, UNC Greensboro and New Mexico State by a combined tally of 23-3. The Buffaloes have also tied No. 12 Michigan State, 1-1. The Buffaloes are impressive, but that's not concerning Wyoming.
"CU has always been a super physical team, but that's something we've never shied away from,"
Alyssa Glover said. "For us, it's just sticking to a focus on being us. CU may have beaten this team or that team, but that's not our focus. We are just focusing on sticking to who we are."
The Cowgirls have outscored their opponents, 5-1. Glover has factored in more than half of those scores with two goals and an assist for a team-best five points on the season.
Kiley Ballek also has two goals, while
Raegan Richardson has the other score.
Goalkeeper,
Haley Bartel, has made it all stand up. She hasn't been tested a great deal early on but still owns five saves with just one allowed goal for a GAA of 0.33.
Colorado's net is patrolled by Jordan Nytes. She's surrendered three goals with 20 saves for a GAA of 0.67.
Hope Leyba paces the Buffaloes' offense. She's found the back of the net nine times for 18 points. Jace Holley isn't far behind at 16 points off six goals and four assists.
Colorado won last year's matchup in Boulder, 5-1, and lays claim to an 11-2-1 advantage in the all-time series. Wyoming's last victory over the Buffaloes occurred in 2011.
Following the trip to Colorado, the Pokes remain on the road. They travel to No. 13 Georgia on Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. contest inside Turner Soccer Complex.
