John Michael Gyllenborg received an invitation to the Senior Bowl this week. The last Cowboy to participate in the game was linebacker Chad Muma in 2022.
Gyllenborg finished an outstanding career with the Brown and Gold ending his tenure with the Pokes with 80 receptions for 1,023 yards. He also added seven touchdowns for the Cowboys. Gyllenborg recorded 17 games with three or more receptions in his career.
This past season, Gyllenborg recorded 24 receptions for 217 yards with one touchdown. He added a career-high six receptions in his final career game against Hawai'i. He was named to the John Mackey Award Preseason Watch list twice in his career.
As a junior, he recorded 30 receptions for 425 yards with three touchdowns and earned All-MW honors. He had 23 receptions as a sophomore with three scores. For his career, he averaged 12.8 yards per reception.
The Panini Senior Bowl is widely regarded as the preeminent college football all-star game and the first stage in the NFL Draft process. The longest continual-running all-star game has taken place in Mobile, Alabama, the past 76 years. More than 900 NFL personnel, including key decision-makers from all 32 teams, and over 1100 media members from around the country were credentialed this year.
This past April, the game produced 106 total picks, representing 40 percent of the entire NFL draft. The 2026 Panini Senior Bowl will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. CT at South Alabama's Hancock Whitney Stadium.
