LARAMIE, Wyo. (Dec 15, 2025) – Cowboy basketball freshman Nasir (Naz) Meyer was named the Old Trapper Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Week on Monday for the third time this season.
 
Meyer recorded a career-high 26 points for the Cowboys in a win over South Dakota. It was the most points by freshman for the Cowboys since Graham Ike recorded 32 points against San Jose State in the First Round of the Mountain West Tournament in 2021.
 
The freshman from Los Angeles, Calif. also added seven rebounds and was 11-of-15 from the field and went 4-of-5 from behind the arc, which were both career bests.
 
The Cowboys close out the non-conference schedule on Monday evening facing South Dakota State in the Sanford Pentagon at 6 p.m.
