COLUMBIA, Mo. (Nov. 21, 2025) – Records could only stand for mere seconds as freshmen
Edward Rhoe and
Jack Boysen went back-to-back while senior
Alicia Gonzalez added a 1-meter zone cut on day two of the Mizzou Invite, Friday.
SWIMMING
"We continue to collect team records and PRs in Columbia with some great wins tonight," said head coach
Dave Denniston.
Wyoming's winning ways continued on day two with sophomores
Macey Hansen and
Isaac Lee winning the 500-yard Freestyle. Hansen finished with a time of 4:44.06 in the final after entering with the top prelim finish.
For Lee, he had to fight to take the top spot after taking second in the prelims. He improved to a personal-best time of 4:22.40.
"Out 500 Free set the tone with Macey and Isaac both winning in dominant fashion," said Denniston.
"We also took down the men's 50 Free record twice with freshmen standouts
Edward Rhoe and
Jack Boysen."
In heat four of the 50-yard Freestyle final, Rhoe swam the fastest in Wyoming history at 19.78. He could only hold the top school spot for so long, as in the very next heat, Boysen would improve with a time of 19.58. The two freshmen now sit atop the school record book on the same day.
"The night was capped off with our women winning the 800 Free Relay with a come-from-behind finish from [junior]
Tara Joyce," said Denniston.
That 800-yard Freestyle Relay was the third Wyoming win of the day, with the crew improving their time by 16.26 seconds, touching the wall at 7:15.31. Joyce truly had a come-from-behind win as the Cowgirls took first place by just 0.25 seconds following her blazing-fast split of 1:44.17.
"Every member of this team is giving all they got and it's been very contagious and fun," Denniston added. "Our parent and fan support is the loudest in the building and everyone is having a blast!"
Other notable finishes from day two were freshman
Jackson Kogler's time of 47.19 in the 100-yard Backstroke for No. 2 in school history, junior
Taylor Craft entering the Top 10 in the 200-yard Breaststroke at 2:15.79 and Joyce improving to second in program history in the 50-yard Backstroke with a time of 22.50.
