LARAMIE, Wyo. (November 12, 2024) – The University of Wyoming track and field and cross country programs announced six additions to the 2026 class on National Signing Day.
Brooklyn Asmus – Sprints – Torrington, Wyo.
Asmus joins the Cowgirl track & field team from Torrington High School. Assistant track & field coach
Ben Santos said, "The signing of Brooklyn Asmus and Grace Miller is exciting. These two women have competed at the very top of Wyoming high school track & field for three years now, improving each year."
"They both bring fiery intensity and competitiveness that match the 'Cowgirl' ethos and culture we want here," he added.
Owen Conley – XC/Distance – Schenectady, N.Y.
Conley joins Wyoming from Colonie Central High School, where he runs distance. As a junior, he finished second at the State Class A championship and is now a frontrunner for the championships coming up this week. At the outdoor state championships, Conley finished fourth in the 4x800-meter relay and took 12th in the 3,200-meter run.
Conley was named the Times Union boys cross country Athlete of the Year in 2024.
Jackson Davis – XC/Distance – Beavercreek, Ohio
Davis comes to Wyoming from Beavercreek High School in Ohio. This season, he led Beavercreek to a Division I cross country state championship, the first in school history, with a team high sixth-place finish.
As a junior, Davis took fourth in the 1,600-meter at the Ohio state meet and has competed at the New Balance Indoor and Outdoor Nationals.
Aaron Peterson – XC/Distance – Ramsey, Minn.
Peterson runs at Anoka High School and will join Wyoming in cross country and as a mid-distance runner. All these guys are awesome people, great students, have big athletic potential and will contribute to the team culture." Looking at their senior seasons, he added, "The group has shown great success already but we're looking forward to what they'll do in their collegiate careers."
AJ McGloflin – High Jump – Spokane, Wash.
In addition to National Signing Day, Wyoming track & field also improved from the transfer portal. Junior high jumper McGloflin comes from Washington State, where he is a two-time NCAA West First Round qualifier. Originally from Spokane, Wash., the junior boasts a high jump personal best of 2.18 meters (7' 1 3/4"), a mark that would rank among the best in Wyoming history. McGloflin was also the 2022 Washington 4A state champion in the High Jump.
Associate head coach and jumps coach
Quincy Howe said, "We are pleased and excited to have AJ join us starting this upcoming spring. He has elite-level athleticism and has shown flashes of being a top-level high jumper at the conference level and beyond. We are looking forward to having him in the fold and getting to work."
