SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (Nov. 13, 2025) – The University of Wyoming cross country program will compete at the NCAA Mountain Regional for a chance to run at the NCAA Championships, Friday, at the Regional Athletics Complex in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The Cowgirls will start their 6k at 10:30 a.m., followed by the Cowboys running a 10k at 11:30 a.m.

The Cowgirls will take on 18 other teams, including U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Coaches' Poll No. 1 BYU, No. 8 New Mexico, No. 17 Colorado, No. 21 Northern Arizona and No. 22 Utah. For the Cowboys, they will race against 16 squads ,including No. 3 New Mexico, No. 6 Colorado, No. 8 Northern Arizona, No. 10 BYU and No. 28 Air Force
At the 2024 NCAA Mountain Regional, the Cowboys finished sixth, eventually earning an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships while the Cowgirls took 12th. On a snowy course in Reno, Nev.,
Leah Christians led the Cowgirls in 52nd while
Jacob White finished in 19th to pace the Cowboys.
The season is on the line as only the Top 2 teams at each regional will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships while another 14 teams will be selected at-large to fill out the 32-team field. For individuals, the Top 4 finishers not on an automatic or at-large team will secure an auto-bid, and another two at-large will race at the championships.
The selection show will be streamed live on NCAA.com at 3 p.m. MT on Saturday, Nov. 15.
LAST TIME OUT
Wyoming closed October at the Mountain West Championships with the Cowboys finishing third and Cowgirls taking fifth.
Three Pokes, seniors
Jacob White,
Ryker Holtzen and
Mathis Chavand earned All-Mountain West honors. White finished in fifth while Holtzen crossed the line seventh for First Team honors while Chavand finished in 13th for Second Team.
The Cowgirls were led by redshirt-freshman
Claire Engelhardt with a time of 21:05.7, a personal best. In the scoring five, two more Cowgirls posted their best 6k time in junior
Brionna Holso and sophomore
Muriel Jones.
