LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Oct. 5, 2025) – The doubles run of Silver Bijlsma and Violetta Borodina came to an end Sunday in the championship match at the Mountain West Fall Individual Championships.

The team, who went 3-0 to start their tournament, lost in straight sets to the team of Jo-Yee Chan and Vessa Turley of San Diego State. Set scores went 7-5 and 7-5.

"It was a good run from V (Borodina) and Silver," said Dean Clower. 

"To have a brand new doubles team in one semester go and do what they did this week was quite remarkable. I'm proud to have both of them on our squad and represent the brown and gold."

After their runner-up finish, the duo and the rest of the Cowgirls now set their sights on the ITA Mountain Regional Tournament beginning Tuesday in Provo, Utah, hosted by BYU.
