LARAMIE, Wyo. (Oct. 31, 2025) - The Wyoming Cowboys officially open the season on Monday hosting Northern State at 6:30 p.m. in the Arena-Auditorium. Head coach
Sundance Wicks will face his alma mater for the first time, as it also marks Wyoming's first contest against the Wolves.
Fans can watch, listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. Th e game will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Keith Kelly will be on the call alongside Kevin McKinney.

About The Teams
Wyoming won a pair of exhibition contests defeating Northern Colorado 69-65 and downing College of Idaho 111-63 last Saturday. Wyoming returns one starter in
Matija Belic along with fellow forward
Abou Magassa. Wicks welcomes 12 newcomers with seven of them being transfers. Against College of Idaho, The Pokes shot 56.2 percent from the field and held a 44-29 advantage on the glass. Wyoming held the Yotes to 36.4 percent from the field.
Northern State is looking to rebound after a 2-26 season in 2024-25 under first-year head coach Matt Wilber. NSU is one of the top NCAA Division II programs winning 13 NSIC regular season championships since the mid 1980's. The Wolves dropped a 112-74 contest to Murray State in their only exhibition contest to date this season. Northern State was picked to finish 13th in the NSIC Preseason poll.
About The Players
The Pokes were led in the exhibition against College of Idaho by
Nasir (Naz) Meyer (18 points),
Damarion Dennis (12 points),
Khaden Bennett (12 points) and
Uriyah Rojas (11 points). Belic led the team with six rebounds with Bennett adding five. All 15 players on the roster recorded a point against the Yote.
Leland Walker, who has scored over 1,000 career points added seven against College of Idaho but led Wyoming with 20 points against Northern Colorado.
Northern State welcomes nine new players to the roster with seven being transfers. Against Murray State, NSU was led in scoring by Joshua Book with 14 points. Simon Akena added 13 points and Marshawn Smith added 10 points. Former Cowboy Ben Bowen started the contest for the Wolves adding four points.
About The Series
Monday's contest marks the first ever meeting between the two schools, but the contest has plenty of ties. Wicks was twice named first team All-NSIC, scoring 1,174 points and pulling down 665 rebounds in his career. He was also a two-time All-NSIC performer in the 400-meter hurdles at Northern State.
