COLUMBIA, Mo. (Oct. 16, 2025) – The University of Wyoming cross country program will take on 12 nationally-ranked teams when they run at Pre Nationals, Friday, at the site of the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Columbia, Mo.
The meet, originally slated for Saturday, but moved due to forecasted weather, will kick off with the women's 6k at 9 a.m. MT, with the men to follow at 9:45 a.m. MT in the 8k.

Wyoming will face its most talented field yet when it takes on seven U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) ranked teams in the women's field, including three in the Top 10 and the No. 1 ranked BYU. For the received votes Cowboys, they will race against five ranked teams, including the No. 2 Oklahoma State men's team.
LAST TIME OUT
Earlier this month at the Joe Paine Invitational, the Cowboys were highlighted by senior
Jacob White breaking the school 8k record while six others ran Top 15 program times.
White finished third, sealing a Top 3 position in every meet this year with a time of 22:45.1 to lead the Cowboys to a third-place finish. Senior
Ryker Holtzen ran to ninth for the No. 3 time in school history, followed by senior
Mathis Chavand in 10th with the No. 4 program time. Senior
Mac Zastrow also ran a Top 15 time when he crossed the line at 23:35.3 for the No. 14 time.
The Cowgirls were led by the third different runner this season when graduate
Marina Trave ran the program No. 9 time for a 16th-place team finish. Sophomore
Muriel Jones ran a personal best for the program No. 13 time while redshirt-freshman
Claire Engelhardt finished with the school No. 14 finish in the 5k.
