LARAMIE, Wyo. (Oct. 14, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowgirls hit the road this week for a pair of primetime contests. The Cowgirls travel to face Nevada at 7 p.m., Mountain Time Thursday before facing Air Force at 7 p.m., Saturday. Please note, if the government shutdown continues through Saturday, the Air Force match will NOT be streamed on the Mountain West Network.
The Cowgirls (8-9, 4-2 MW) are coming off suffering their first two losses of the conference slate last week, losing in four sets to Utah State and Boise State. In the loss to the Aggies, Sarah Holcomb recorded her sixth-career double-double as she tallied 11 kills and 11 blocks in the matchup. During league-only matches, Holcomb paces the conference in blocks, averaging 1.80 per set. Overall, Holcomb's 1.44 blocks per set in 2025 ranks 16th in the nation while her 95 total blocks are the sixth-most in the country.
As a team, Wyoming's 2.56 blocks per set ranks fourth in the Mountain West while its 14.98 digs per set, ranks third in the league. On offense, UW's .216 team hitting percentage is third-best in the MW while the Cowgirls' 14.92 assists per set ranks fourth. Wyoming's 12.85 kills per are fifth in the conference.
Offensively, Paige Lauterwasser leads the Cowgirls with 178 kills and 2.70 kills per set. Holcomb's .346 hitting percentage in all matches is fourth in the conference. Sara Quigley's team-best 6.65 assists per set ranks eighth in the Mountain West. In the back row defensively, Skylar Erickson's 3.73 digs per set is sixth in the league.
Nevada is led by Haylee Brown's 3.28 kills per set this season, which ranks seventh in the Mountain West. Bella Snyder's .342 hitting percentage in 2025 is fifth in the conference. Audrey Jensen is sixth in the league averaging 6.96 assists per set while her 0.32 service aces per are ninth in the MW. As a team, the Wolf Pack are fourth in the league averaging 1.56 service aces per set as a team. Nevada hits .169 as a team this season and are allowing opponents to hit .230.
Air Force leads the league in opponent hitting percentage this season, allowing teams to hit just .165 against it this season. The Falcons rank third in the Mountain West in assists (12.32) and kills (13.35) per set. AFA also ranks second-best in the conference with 1.57 aces per set as a team and ranks in the top-half of the league in digs (14.81) per set and in hitting percentage (.210). The Falcons are led by a strong offensive duo in Ashley Bible (3.48) and Alysa Walker (3.21) who rank fourth and ninth, respectively in the league in kills per set. Alex Hatchett is second in the conference, hitting .352 this season. Mia Loyd's 9.47 assists per ranks third in the MW while her 0.34 service aces per set is tied for fourth in the conference.
