LARAMIE, Wyo. (1/16/25) – The University of Wyoming swimming and diving teams are heading south to face off against Division II opponent Colorado School of Mines on Saturday at 11 a.m.
The Pokes last dueled the Orediggers in the fall of 2023, where both the men and women came away victorious, with final scores of 138-82 and 137-81 respectively.
The Cowgirls are coming off a big 182-118 win over Denver on Senior Day this past weekend, and as a result they remain undefeated on the season at 6-0 overall and 3-0 in conference. The Cowboys dropped a tough one against Denver, falling 119-181 and are now sitting at 1-2 overall and 1-0 in conference.
This meet will look a slightly different compared to the previous duals Wyoming has competed in this season, according to head coach
Dave Denniston. The Pokes will have the opportunity to race in sprint events that usually aren't included in the meet format, such as the 50-yard breaststroke and 50-yard butterfly.
"This is a fun racing meet," Denniston said. "There's not a lot of stress; the team has overcome the initial soreness from getting back to Laramie and been training really hard. I think it's going to be a little bit more of a sprint-style type meet where we'll do 50's of the strokes and some different things that are unique to the season but overall, I think the team's just looking forward to racing some different events."
The meet against Colorado School of Mines will be live streamed on the RMAC Network at the link
