LARAMIE, Wyo. (July 15, 2024) – A pair of former Cowboys are representing the Cowboys at the NBA Summer League over the next week in Las Vegas, Nev. Forward
Mason Walters is suiting up for the Phoenix Suns with Hunter Maldonado playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder for the second-straight season.
Walters spent last season with the Cowboys appearing in 22 games for the Brown and Gold as a graduate transfer. He did not appear in the Phoenix's opener against Golden State. He averaged 12.2 points per game last season along with 5.4 rebounds and two assists per game. He recorded double-figures in 16 games last season including a season-high 22 points at Air Force. Prior to Wyoming, he was the NAIA National Player of the Year at University of Jamestown.

Maldonado played with the Oklahoma City Blue of the G-League helping lead his team to a championship. He added six rebounds and three assists in the Thunder's opener against Toronto. Last season in the G-League, Maldonado added 11.9 points per game with 4.7 rebounds along with 4.9 assists per game.
