FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Ryker Holtzen and Albert Steiner were up for the Cowboys on the third day of the 2024 NCAA Track & Field Field Outdoor Championships West First Rounds one Friday as the duo competed in the 3000M Steeplechase.
Holtzen, the school record holder in the event, went 8:57.84 to take 22nd place while Steiner ran a 9:21.05 to take 39th going against some of the best competition the west has to offer.

Salma Elbadra is the lone Cowgirl that has an event left at these 2024 regionals. The freshman will race in the 1500 on Saturday at 4:15 Mountain Time for her shot at qualifying for the 2024 National Championships set for Eugene, Ore., in two weeks. Elbadra qualified in third with her performance on Thursday and will be one of 24 student athletes vying for 12 spots out of the West region tomorrow.
