COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Salma Elbadra has been named the Mountain West Conference Women's Freshman Athlete of the Week on Tuesday April 30th.

Elbadra set a new Wyoming standard in the 800M at the Doug Max Invitational on Sunday in Fort Collins, Colo., taking first in the race winning with a time of 2:05.14. The freshman set her third record at Wyoming since stepping foot on campus back in January. Elbadra owns the Indoor Mile and 3000M record and now adds the 800 to her list. 

In her first 800 as a Cowgirl, Elbadra ranks No. 1 in the Mountain West in the event and ranks No. 2 in the 1500 heading into the Outdoor Championships from Fresno, Calif., next week.
