COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 22, 2024) – Wyoming Cowgirl tennis student-athlete Jeselle Ante was named the Mountain West's Female Tennis Freshman of the Week, announced Monday by the league office.

Ante, who becomes the first Cowgirl this season to receive an All-Mountain West weekly honor, won both her singles and doubles match last week at Border Rival Colorado State. Ante and her partner, Lucia Malinak, earned UW's lone doubles win against CSU, winning 7-5 at the No. 3 spot. Ante also picked up a straight-sets win at the No. 4 singles position, 6-1 and 6-3.

Ante and the rest of the Cowgirls are the No. 3 seed at this week's Mountain West Tournament and will play Thursday at 3 p.m., Mountain Time.
