LARAMIE, Wyo. (April 17, 2024) – The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team closes out the 2024 regular season with a trip south to face a familiar foe as it faces Border Rival Colorado State Friday at 11 a.m. Friday's match will be pushed to a 3:30 p.m., start if it is moved indoors due to weather. With a win, the Cowgirls can clinch the third seed going into next week's Mountain West Tournament in Las Vegas.

Wyoming (15-9, 6-3 MW) is coming off a home-and-road split last week. The Cowgirls dismantled Air Force on Senior Night, 4-0 before dropping a hard-fought road contest at conference-leading New Mexico Sunday afternoon. With the win over AFA, the Cowgirls closed their 2024 home slate with a 9-1 mark and are 64-11 at home under Head Coach Dean Clower in his 13 seasons.

Noesjka Brink and Sophie Zehender continued their impressive winter and spring with a pair of wins last week, the only two Cowgirls to go 2-0 on the week. In duals this season, Zehender and Brink lead UW with 16 and 17 wins, respectively, playing at the No.1 and 2 positions, respectively. Overall, Brink now has 26 wins for 2023-24, just two off of tying the single-season wins mark in program history. The duo has each collected a team-leading seven Mountain West wins this season.

In doubles, Wyoming has been dominating all season, boasting an overall mark in dual play of 42-18. The Cowgirls have been even better in league action, posting a 16-5 record. Violetta Borodina and Zehender improved to 7-1 in the league last week, and now have 27 wins overall for the season, setting a new program record for single-season doubles wins.

CSU enters Friday at 9-10 overall but is 5-4 in league play. The Rams are 7-3 at home on the year and are 3-1 in Fort Collins during Mountain West action.
