LARAMIE, Wyo. (3/9/24) – The University of Wyoming diving team is slated to compete in the Zone E Championships. The meet takes place in Flagstaff, Arizona, inside the Wall Aquatic Center from Monday through Wednesday.

"It has been a long season and a tough last couple of weeks, but I know this team is ready for Zones," diving coach Mark Murdock said. "They have been supporting and encouraging each other through it all. I'm very proud of them and excited to see how they compete at championships."

Five student-athletes – four Cowgirls and one Cowboy – will participate. Alicia Gonzalez, Nettie Knapton, Natalie Six and Marnie Howard are set to go for the Cowgirls, while Bruno Grau is slated to participate for the Cowboys.

Alicia Gonzalez leads the quintet. She has consistently been the stoutest diver this year, owning season-best scores of 319.65 (1-meter), 317.75 (3-meter) and 196.70 (platform). Her performance in 3-meter a couple weeks ago garnered her All-Mountain West Conference recognition.

Nettie Knapton represents the Cowgirls' best performer on platform. She's logged a season-best tally of 255.90 at conference, which earned her All-Mountain West honors, as well.

Bruno Grau paced the Cowboys this season. He's posted career-best marks of 275.55 (1-meter), 290.40 (3-meter) and 213.45 (platform).

The NCAA Championships stand as the final stop for divers this season. Top performers at the Zone E Championships gain inclusion into the NCAA Championships held March 20-23 in Athens, Georgia, for the women, and March 27-30 in Indianapolis, Indiana, for the men.
