LARAMIE, Wyo. — The University of Track & Field Team will take a contingent of student athletes to Boulder, Colo., this weekend for the Colorado Invitational.
Among the contingent competing this weekend are the Cowboy and Cowgirl throwers along with Sadie McMullen. McMullen has twice earned Mountain West Female Field Athlete of the Week honors this season and ranks No. 2 in the conference in the Long Jump heading into the weekend. The junior from Morrison, Colo. ranks No. 35 in the NCAA this year as well.
A trio of Cowboy throwers ranks No. 4, 5 and 8 in the Shot Put this season in the Mountain West. Led by Cam Burkett at 58-3.25, Cowboys Daniel Reynolds and Gage Griffith are right there atop the conference lists. Reynolds went 70-9.25 last week in Bozeman, Mont., to claim the top spot in the conference so far this year in the Weight Throw and ranks 16th nationally in the event.
Mary Carbee ranks in the fourth spot in the Mountain West in the Weight Throw with a top throw of 62-1 while teammate Christine Montler sits at No. 9 with her season best at 56-3.25.
