John Hoyland Named Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week

Finished career with three field goals at Washington State

LARAMIE, Wyo. (Dec. 2, 2024) – Senior kicker John Hoyland was named the Mountain West Conference Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday. He helped led the Cowboys past Washington State in the regular season finale on Saturday. It is the sixth time in his career that he has garnered the honor.

Hoyland, a native of Broom field, Colo. finished his Cowboy career scoring nine points for the Cowboys in the 15-14 win over Washington State on Saturday. He was a perfect 3-of-3 in field goals in the contest knocking in field goals from 42-yards, 40-yards, and 22-yards to finish the season 14-of-15 inside the 50-yard line.

He finished his career with the Cowboys with a school record 73 made field goals. He also finished his career with the Brown and Gold with 366 career points.
