RENO, Nevada (10/17/24) – The University of Wyoming soccer team earned a point Thursday night. The Cowgirls tied with Nevada, 0-0, at Makay Stadium.
The result moves Wyoming to 4-5-6 overall and 2-2-3 (9 points) in Mountain West Conference play. The Wolf Pack, whose three-game win streak was snapped, are now 5-10-1 on the season and 3-3-1 (10 points) in league action.
It may have ended in a scoreless draw, but it didn't lack drama. Wyoming had chances, leading in shots, 14-10, however only four of those were on target. The Cowgirls were also called for more than three times the number of fouls, 10-3.
Raegan Richardson accounted for the most shots, logging four, for Wyoming.
Alyssa Bedard and
Hadley Linder also fired multiple shots with three and two, respectively.
Both goalkeepers mirrored one another. Wyoming's
Haley Bartel turned away three shots, while Nevada's Alyssa Szarlacki duplicated that performance with three saves, as well. It represented Bartel's seventh shutout of the season and eighth of her career.
Wyoming remains on the road. The Cowgirls travel to UNLV on Sunday for a 1 p.m. contest at Johann Memorial Stadium.
