COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Daniel Reynolds was named the Mountain West Male Field Athlete of the Week after a strong performance in the Weight Throw at the Bobcat Challenge in Bozeman, Mont., last Friday.
Announced by the conference on Tuesday January 30th, Reynolds becomes the second Cowboy to be named the Field Athlete of the Week this Indoor season and it is the fourth time a Wyoming Field Athlete has received the honor with Sadie McMullen twice earning the Female Field Athlete of the Week award.
Reynolds went 70-9.25 to win the Weight Throw at Montana State and broke into the Mountain West Conference record books in the event with the No. 4 throw of all time and move up the Wyoming record books to No. 6 all time. Reynolds throw also helped the Pokes defeat the University of Montana in their portion of the tri meet with the Bobcats.
The Junior from Granby, Colo., sits No. 1 in the conference this season in the event and No. 16 in the NCAA so far this year. Reynolds and the Pokes are back in action on February 9th from Seattle, Wash., and Albuquerque, N.M., at the Husky Classic and Don Kirby Invite.
