LARAMIE, Wyo. (Jan. 3, 2024) – Wyoming Cowgirl Tennis Head Coach Dean Clower has announced the elevation of Julie Gonzalez to Associate Head Coach for the Cowgirls. 2024 will be the fifth season overall for Gonzalez with the Cowgirls.
"Coach Gonzalez personifies what it means to be Cowgirl Tough, and she deserves this promotion," said Clower.
"Our 2023 Mountain West championship would not have happened without her leadership, tennis IQ and passion for the game. I look forward to giving coach Gonzalez more responsibilities in the future, as she is vital to the success of this program."
Gonzalez, who spent her first three seasons as a volunteer assistant within the program, has helped guide eight student-athletes to All-Mountain West Singles Team accolades and four doubles tandems to All-Doubles Team honors. Last season, Gonzlez was instrumental in Wyoming's first Mountain West title in program history and the Cowgirls' first trip to a postseason national tournament, as UW played in the Universal Tennis NIT.
