CALIFORNIA — The University of Wyoming Track & Field teams were back in action on day two of three out in California. On Friday the Pokes took to the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Beach Invite. A trio of Cowgirls running at the Bryan Clay moved into the Wyoming record books with their performances in the 800M and 5K.
Bryan Clay Invitational
- Kaylee Kearse started the day off with a move into the Wyoming all-time top-10 list running a 2:10.74 in the 800M at the Bryan Clay to move into the record books at No. 8.
- Kylie Simshauser and Hailey Uhre got their weekend started with a 5K on Friday evening doing the same as Kearse and breaking into the UW record books. Simshauser ran a 16:46.45 with Uhre right behind her in the same heat running a 16:48.89. Those times are good for No. 7 and No. 8 respectively all time.
- Mason Norman and Jacob White capped off the day in the men's 5K. Norman up first in his heat ran a 14:10.98, just a few seconds shy of his personal best time of 14:07.40. White running last on the day for the Cowboys improved on his No. 2 mark all time at Wyoming with a time of 13:47.81.
Long Beach Invitational
- Kayla Stibley went 10-10.75 competing in the Pole Vault to finish in 12th place at Long Beach State University.
The Pokes will be back in action on Saturday for the third and final day of action out in California.
