DENVER, Colo. (2/10/23) – The University of Wyoming swimming and diving team took part in Day 1 of the DU First Chance Meet on Friday inside El Pomar Natatorium.
"It was such a fun first session starting off our championship season," assistant coach Logan Arnold said. "Our Cowboys and Cowgirls are leaving tonight with seven lifetime-best times and one pool record. Spirits are high and we are looking forward to a great second session tomorrow."
Quinn Cynor was the one responsible for the pool record. He posted a time of 1:47.61 in the 200-yard butterfly en route to victory.
Wyoming enjoyed many other top-five finishes, as well.
Katie McPherson logged a third-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.61.
Luke Walker recorded a third-place finish of his own in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:40.64.
Zoe Robison went a 1:07.01 in the 100-yard breaststroke to take fourth.
Hannah Giles also finished fourth in the 200-yard butterfly after swimming a 2:08.93.
Samantha Diaz was fifth in the 50-yard freestyle after recording a time of 23.90.
Luke Slabber touched fifth in his 100-yard breaststroke, posting a time of 56.52.
The final day of DU First Chance Meet is Saturday. Action begins at 10 a.m.
