LARAMIE, Wyo.  (Dec. 14, 2023) The Mountain West announced its 2024 football matchups today, including home and away designations. The Cowboys will play home games against Air Force, Boise State, San Diego State and Utah State. Wyoming will play road games against Colorado State, New Mexico, San Jose State and Washington State.

The league slate features a total of 42 games and 12 nonconference matchups against Oregon State and Washington State. As previously announced, the games against the Beavers and Cougars are part of a scheduling agreement for the 2024 football season.

The schedule will play out over 14 weeks. The Mountain West Football Championship Game, featuring the two MW teams with the highest Conference winning percentages, will follow on Saturday, Dec. 7.

The 2024 schedule follows a 7+1 model, whereby each MW program will play seven league opponents, and play either Oregon State or Washington State, with an even split of four home games and four away games among the eight contests. Working off the previous three-year schedule rotation (2023-2025), matchups were rebalanced utilizing the same principles to minimize the impact on the original 2024 schedule. The schedule format and agreement with Oregon State and Washington State provides additional strength of schedule to the MW. Dates for each contest will be announced later.

The 2024 MW football membership includes Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Hawai'i, Nevada, New Mexico, San Diego State, San José State, UNLV, Utah State and Wyoming.
