LARAMIE, Wyo. (11/21/23) – Half a dozen University of Wyoming soccer players were honored Tuesday.
Taylor Brook,
Lily Brongo,
Nikayla Copenhaver,
Alyssa Glover,
Jamie Tatum and
Keelie Wortmann were named CoSIDA Academic All-District for their efforts on and off the pitch.
In order to qualify, a student-athlete must have played in at least 90 percent of contests or started in 66 percent of matches. They must also be at least a sophomore and possess a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Glover led the Cowgirls in scoring with six goals to go alongside four assists. Tatum added three goals and a team-high five assists, and Copenhaver had one goal and three assists.
Brook led the team in minutes played at 1,462 while also adding a goal. Brongo netted her first-career score in 2023 and also recorded a pair of assists. Wortmann scored once, a game-winning goal during the 89th minute at San Jose State.
Each honoree advances to consideration for Academic All-American. Those will be announced next month.
