Get to Know Mason Walters

Why Did you Choose to come to play for the Cowboys?

Coming from an NAIA school it was an opportunity to use my COVID year and play against better competition. I fell in love with Wyoming and this coaching staff and the players. It feels like home!

Who do you model your game after?

I model my game after Kevin Garnett and power forwards that can play inside and out and are great passers and have the ability to dribble and shoot.

Biggest Ability on the Floor?

I try to bring energy defensively and leave it all on the floor. I feel like I'm a good passer that can really score the ball as well and play both inside and outside. I feel like I can also bring leadership.
Favorite thing to do in Laramie?

I think it has definitely been golfing with the guys. I played a lot with Wenzel and Foster this summer at Jacoby.

What are you looking forward to most this season?

The opportunity to get better as a player a teammate. I have a lot to work on, but I think we have a great chance to surprise people and wins some games and have a great year.
