LARAMIE, Wyo. (10/24/23) – Tara Joyce has enjoyed a very strong start to her collegiate swimming career at the University of Wyoming. On Tuesday, the Cody native was recognized for it.

Joyce was named the Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Week for her performance at Air Force on Saturday. She won a pair of races and finished in the top-three of the other two in the Cowgirls' 169-131 victory in Colorado Springs.

Joyce won the 200-yard freestyle, boasting a time of 1:53.12. She also anchored the victorious 400-yard freestyle relay team that touched in 3:28.37.

Joyce added a runner-up finish in the 500-yard freestyle after logging a time of 5:14.49. She also placed third as a member of the 200-yard medley relay team that swam a time of 1:47.26.

Wyoming is back home this week. The Cowgirls and Cowboys host Colorado School of Mines on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Laramie High School.
