CARY, N.C. (Oct. 2, 2023) – The Wyoming Cowgirl doubles tennis tandem of Violetta Borodina and Sophie Zehender competed as a duo Monday at the ITA All-Americas.

Borodina and Zehender went 1-1 on the day, losing in their first matchup in qualifying before rebounding later in the afternoon in the consolation bracket. The tandem defeated the team of Millie Bissett and Anna Arkadianou of Florida State, 8-5. They began the day with an 8-2 loss to Taylor Cataldi and Maria Sholokhova of Wisconsin.

The tandem is in their first fall of playing together as doubles partners. Borodina and Zehender won the Bedford Cup doubles title in September in their first action together. The duo is now 6-1 together this fall. Play will continue Tuesday at the ITAs.
