COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (1/31/23) – The University of Wyoming diving team embarks on its final tune up before conference season this week. It will compete at the Air Force Diving Invite from Thursday through Saturday inside Cadet Natatorium.
"The invite is great competition leading into conference," head diving coach Mark Murdock said. "It will give our divers a chance to gain experience in a long competition setting with nearly 50 athletes per event. As a diver, it will come down to who can stay warm and focused through each of the six rounds."
Wyoming will take all six of its divers.
Payton Lee will go from the men's team along with
Madelynn Appelhans,
Alicia Gonzalez,
Gabriella Haigler,
Nettie Knapton and
Natalie Six on the women's team.
All three disciplines are scheduled to be competed. The men's 1-meter and the women's 3-meter finals will be contested Thursday. Friday will entail the men's 3-meter and women's 1-meter, while platform for both the men and the women take place Saturday.
Following the Air Force Diving Invite, Wyoming's divers will compete at their respective conference championships. The Mountain West Conference championships are scheduled for Feb. 15-18, and the Western Athletic Championships are Feb. 22-25.
