MADRID, Spain (July 27, 2022) – Former Wyoming Cowgirl Alba Sanchez Ramos has signed a two-year deal to play professionally with Baloncesto Leganés in her hometown of Madrid, Spain. Leganés is part of the Liga Femenina Endesa (LF Endesa), which is run by the Spanish Basketball Federation.

Sanchez Ramos was a stalwart for UW during her career from 2018-22, where she was a three-year starter. Sanchez Ramos averaged 8.1 points and 5.4 rebounds in 89 career games with 82 career starts as a Cowgirl. She tallied 175 career assists to go along with 56 steals and 31 blocks while with the Brown and Gold.

This past season, Sanchez Ramos averaged eight points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. In 2020-21, Sanchez Ramos helped lead Wyoming to the Mountain West Tournament Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Sanchez Ramos started all 24 games that season and averaged 10.3 points per game and a team-high 6.3 rebounds per contest.

During her career with the Cowgirls, Sanchez Ramos had 30 contests in which she scored 10-or-more points and had four career double-doubles.
