ATLANTA, Ga. (July 20, 2022) – After a brief one-year hiatus, the Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team has once again earned a spot on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top-25 Team Honor Roll, announced Wednesday by the organization.

It marks the ninth time in school history that the Cowgirls have received the honor. UW comes in at No. 13 on the Division I list after compiling a 2021-22 cumulative GPA of 3.628. The Cowgirls are the only Mountain West team to make the list.

The WBCA Academic Top-25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year women's basketball programs across the country, that carry the highest combined GPAs. The 2021-22 season is the 27th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor.

UW had 12 student-athletes named Academic All-Mountain West during the academic year and had 11 land on the MW Scholar-Athlete Team.

On the court in 2021-22, Wyoming advanced to the third round of the Women's NIT, where it fell to UCLA in triple overtime. UW had three student-athletes receive All-Mountain West honors during the season as McKinley Bradshaw was named to the All-MW Team with Allyson Fertig taking home Freshman of the Year and All-Freshman Team honors and Quinn Weidemann was named to the All-Defensive Team for the second-straight season.
