LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 18, 2022) – For the 14th consecutive season, the University of Wyoming volleyball team was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Academic Team, announced Monday by the association.
The AVCA Team Academic Award is given to teams that post a cumulative team GPA of a 3.30 or better for the academic year. The Cowgirls boasted a team GPA of 3.47 for the 2021-22 academic year, had 13 student-athletes named to the Mountain West All-Academic Team and had seven MW Scholar-Athletes.
The 2022 version of UW volleyball reports to fall camp August 8 before beginning practices the ninth. The Cowgirls will hold their annual Brown and Gold Scrimmage at 6 p.m., Aug. 19 at the UniWyo Sports Complex before hosting CSU Pueblo in an exhibition contest Aug. 20 at 5 p.m.
UW opens the regular season hosting the first of two home tournaments this fall. The Cowgirls open play at noon Aug. 26 as Wichita State comes to Laramie. Creighton and Iowa State will also be in attendance for the Rumble in the Rockies tournament.
