Coach's Corner: Quotes From Joe Jensen, University of Wyoming Director of Golf
"A match play event is a fresh event, the kids love it and I like the team atmosphere around a match play event. I always was hoping to start one, and I liked the idea of starting the spring this way with a unique event.
"For north schools for sure, it is nice to go to the desert and get some work in early in the spring in a very competitive atmosphere.
"I received good response from other schools who wanted to participate. It will be set up in a bracket format where we will have true first, second and third-place teams all the way through the eighth-place team. Each team will be guaranteed three matches. With eight teams it works well over a two-day format.
"It is an exciting format because you are truly playing for your team and you'll see teammates cheering on other teammates. I believe it will be an exciting two days."
