Stender Adds Wyoming Native Samantha Spielman for 2023-24 season

LARAMIE, Wyo. (Nov. 10, 2021) –  Head Women's Golf Coach Josey Stender announced the signing of one athlete on Thursday. Wyoming Native Samantha Spielman will join the join the Cowgirl golf squad next fall. 
 
"Samantha is the whole package on and off the course. She is a long hitter and a methodical, strategic player. She is a tremendous multi-sport athlete from a very accomplished, athletic family. She knows how to win, be a positive teammate and will also bring a lot of national playing experience with her."  Said Stender, "She is also a very high achiever in the class room and just a great human being. I am very excited to coach her." 
 
Spielman has put together a very impressive prep career so far at Sheridan High School highlighted by winning the Wyoming 4A individual state title in 2020 and 2022 while finishing third in 2021. She also helped lead Sheridan to a team title in 2021 and is a four-time All-State Honoree. Following her 2022 state title win she was named the Lew Lepore Wyoming High School player of the Year. 
 
Outside of golf, Spielman has also found success in basketball earning all-conference honors in 2021 and 2022 helping Sheridan to a third-place finish in the 2021 state tournament. She has also excelled in the classroom as a four0time academic letter winner.
