COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 3, 2022) – Wyoming volleyball's Tierney Barlow was named the Mountain West's Freshman of the Week Monday, announced by the league office. Barlow helped lead the Cowgirls to a pair of five-set road victories last week.

In the two wins at New Mexico and Air Force, Barlow was second on the team averaging 2.40 kills per set while averaging 2.8 points per. Barlow, who currently ranks second in the Mountain West in hitting percentage at .390 overall for the season and an amazing .517 during league play, hit .526 in UW's two wins. Barlow opened the week with a 12-kill performance against UNM, while hitting an even .500. She also added a block against the Lobos. Barlow then followed that effort up with another 12 kills and this time hit .550 against the Falcons while adding four total blocks and a trio of digs.

The honor is the first of Barlow's career, the first for a Cowgirl this season and the first honor for Wyoming since the spring 2021 season. Barlow and the rest of the Cowgirls return to home action this week as they host San Jose State October 6 at 6:30 p.m., and Nevada at Noon Oct. 8.
