NEW ORLEANS, La. — The men's and women's University of Wyoming Cross Country Teams were named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic teams for the 2021 season as announced by the organization on Thursday Jan. 27th.
The women paced the way for Wyoming with a 3.667 GPA while the men held their own and were honored with a 3.212 GPA.
Athletically the Cowboys finished fifth at the Mountain West Cross Country Championships while the Cowgirls notched a top-six finish at the same Championships in a competitive field.
Both squads raced at the 2021 NCAAA Mountain Regional where they wrapped up the 2021 campaign with an 11th place finish for the men and a 12th place finish for the women.
Katelyn Mitchem led the way for the Cowgirls in the 6k race as she was the lone Wyoming athlete to finish inside the top 50 coming in at 49th with a time of 21.26.2
In the men's 10K race Oisin O'Gailin would once again be the top finisher for the Cowboys as he had an impressive race finishing 46th with a time of 31.19.0.
