Bryce Dauphin completed his prep career at Tuttle High School in Tuttle, Oklahoma where he was a three-time state finalist and two-time state champion.
How has practice and training differed from high school to college?
Workouts have been tough and made me a lot better already. I also enjoy how all my teammates have the same aspirations as me and want to be national champs.
What are you most looking forward to going into your fist season at UW?
I'm super excited and eager to learn! It's been a dream of mine since I was little to wrestle in college and so I'm ready to be able to live out my dream.
What is one thing you learned in your high school career that will help you to compete at the college level?
If you feel like you aren't doing enough you probably aren't. My coaches in high school really instilled in me to never take anything for granted and the importance of a good work ethic.
What is your favorite memory from your high school career?
My favorite part of my high school career was growing up with my teammates. We all wrestled little league together and now seeing them accomplish goals such as state championships and wrestling in college is awesome.
Do you have any pre-match or pre-tournament rituals and/or superstitions?
I just like to pray on the mat and like to be nice and warmed up!
What's the best piece of advice you have been given during your wrestling career so far?
It's a privilege to be able to complete at the D1 level. Anyone can be beat at any time.
Coming from Oklahoma, does the possibility of getting to compete against Oklahoma and
Oklahoma State excite/motivate you at all?
Absolutely, I know I'm at the right place I to beat those guys.
Why did you decide to come to UW?
There's no place better to train than UW. We also have the best coaches in the country and this is where I see myself becoming a national champ.
What was your biggest motivation during your state champion season?
My motivation was just to keep getting better and win my second state title as well as represent my home town and UW.
